US WW II Field Ration D – U.S.M.C

                                              

While many rations were identical for all services, this particular item came in versions for the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Marine Corps. This particular version is for the Marines. Semper fi!

 

The ration is a 2-ounce reproduction D-ration bar (in this case a chocolate bar) sealed in a cello-like bag, and packaged inside the classic wax-sealed box.

 

These were initially issued as an emergency ration, but later became both a main meal component and a supplement in other rations such as the Jungle Ration, K-Ration, Mountain Ration, and 5-in-1 Ration.

 

Not only is the packaging an authentic replica of the WW 2 item, but the rations inside are fresh from the grocer so you can enjoy the ration in the field and still be 100% authentic.
