The crimson rim on the obverse encircles a blank field, symbolic of the absence of an official rank insignia for Marine Corps Privates. Imbued with rich enamel in official heraldic colors, the reverse features the eagle, globe, and anchor emblem of the U.S. Marine Corps. Struck in a brass alloy, this coin's rich antique bronze finish is accented by colorful enamel highlights throughout.

I protect my coins in either a PVC or vinyl coin pouch, flip, zip bag and/or bubble wrap to protect them during storage and shipment. I am starting to make an effort to get a little more eco friendly, so I hope to only use recycled packaging in the future, to include newspaper or tissue paper. But rest assured, your coin(s) won't get scratched in transit from my mailbox. Coins that aren't packaged safely are a major pet peeve of mine and I won't skimp when it comes to that.
