What is UID?

In simple terms, suppliers to the Department of Defense (DoD) must comply with a unique identification mandate; which calls for a specialized bar code to be placed on each item supplied to the DoD.

The printer is a Zebra 110XiIIIPlus Bar Code Printer; which includes 300 dpi, 4.5 inch print width, 10 ips print speed, Serial, Parallel and USB interfaces, 16MB SDRAM and 2MB Flash.  Zebra’s 110XiIIIPlus is a true 4 inch (102 mm) performance printer – this hardworking printer is the one to call on for heavy-duty, industrial operations.  The 110XiIIIPlus printer is ideal for a variety of applications, including top-side and bottom-side circuit board labeling, product identification labels, serial plate labels, product labels, surgical tools and equipment, diagnostic kits, as well as vials and slides.

The resin ribbon is 4.33 inches by 1476 feet per roll; and the package includes (6) total rolls.  A performance resin product with excellent print quality durability and chemical resistance on a wide range of substrates from coated papers to gloss synthetics, this ribbon requires lower burn temperatures than other ribbons in its class. This ribbon is an excellent choice for high-density codes and high-resolution graphics.

Smaller labels are 4.0 inches by 2.0 inches; and each roll has 1340 performance labels – this package includes (4) total rolls of the smaller labels.  A matte, top-coated white polypropylene thermal transfer label that produces high-quality black bar codes and human readable fonts; and features a high-performance permanent acrylic adhesive. Offers superior performance and is compatible with a wide variety of surfaces and temperature ranges.

Larger labels are described as above except for size: 4.0 inches by 6.0 inches; and each roll has 960 performance labels - this package includes (4) total rolls of the larger labels.

Lastly, the software included with this premium kit is ZebraDesigner Pro Label Design Application software, which brings new ease of use and power to the desktop.  Featuring an intuitive, Windows-based interface and a WYSIWYG label designer, plus new Design and RFID Wizards, this application makes creating complex labels based on fixed or variable data simple.
