UK Bracket Clock 18th C. Verge Date Alarm WITHERS c1750

This Bracket Clock is made around 1750 by William Withers who had his studio in UK-London Center. It has verge escapement, going work, striking work, alarm, date, and striking repetition on demand.
Large symmetrical ebonised oak case, bronze top handle and corner finials, hinging front and back door with glass windows and key lock, the sides with round and square glass windows.
Gilt bronze dial center with silvered dial chapter with Roman and Arabic numerals, steel early hands, above a dial with “strike” and “silent” pointer, below the hands a slit showing the date, behind the hands a turnable plate with engraved numerals 1-12 to set alarm time. With engraved signature “William Withers London”. Set around with fine gilt bronze relief scrolls.
Large English 2-train handmade clockwork with bullet pendulum, verge escapement, two conic and grooved fusees with cords, hours striking and alarm striking, and repetition striking by cord outside the case. The back platine with fine floweral basket and scrolls engravings and pendulum lock. Wind-up key included.
Measurements : at feet 11" x 7", high 19.50" incl. handle (excl. handle 17.5”), dial diam. 6.75”. Overall in good condition, please view the several pictures.
