CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

WARRANTED TO BE A GENUINE AUTHENTIC 19th CENTURY ANTIQUE.

Thomas MOULE: (1784-1851), produced the most decorative of the 19th century Maps of the English Counties.
This richly decorated map of the county has attractive heraldry, coats of arms, decorative scrolls, scale and fine vignette view of Southampton, the arms of the Duke of Wellington etc.
It shows such as The Isle of Wight, Newport, Yarmouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, Lymington, Christchurch, Winchester, Andover Basingstoke, railways and many small towns and villages.
Engraved on steel, with later hand colour.
Published from 1833 onwards under the title of ENGLISH COUNTIES DELINEATED, then into the 1840's in various publications, mainly in A COMPLETE & UNIVERSAL DICTIONARY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
The maps in later editions were updated to include the extension of subsequent railway lines etc.
