This auction is for an artistic looking Movingui set with all pieces coming from the same plank of wood. There is a beautiful striping in the grain which I think is due to spalting. It offers an interesting contrast of color to this set.
All pieces are a perfect match for color and grain. The Peg Head is a 2 piece bookmatch with sapwood center and curly V figure. It is not glued together yet. Alot of labor has been done for you thinning this wood for building. Because of the highly figured curl, it is best to sand the wood instead of planing.
Movingui is sometimes known as African Satinwood. It is not as heavy in weight as the genuine Ceylon Satinwood which grows in Sri Lanka and Southern India.
The Peg Head has a bookmatch curly V figure .
All surfaces are sanded with no saw marks remaining, just sanding swirls from disc sanding remain.
