NOTE: Lines on screen shown in pictures of boot screen are just an effect of taking a picture of the display- there is no problem with the video! You are bidding on a very rare piece of computing history. This is a UMAX Supermac S900DP / 200 Macintosh Clone computer - FULLY LICENSED by Apple and 100% functionally equivalent to Apple's Powermac 9500 / 200 computer with some key enhancements being 2 discrete CPU daughtercards on the UMAX vs. a single card on the Powermac, and a separate PCI bus controller for each group of 3 slots on the UMAX vs. a single controller for all 6 slots on the Powermac. This is one of the first dual processor Macintosh clones from the late 90's, and one of the first dual-processor Macintosh computers ever made. It has 2x 200MHz PPC604ev processors on discrete processor cards. This system has: - 304MB RAM (6 of 8 slots populated, interleaved) - Just installed NEW PRAM battery as of September, 2009! - 1GB SCSI HD with Mac OS 9 installed - 2GB SCSI HD with Mac OS 8 / Yellow Dog Linux - Internal SCSI CD-R drive - External SCSI FWB CD-R drive - Original Apple Extended ADB keyboard - Original UMAX ADB Mouse - Original Apple Mac OS 9 Install CD - Can include 15" Dell Monitor shown for an extra $50 + shipping And the system is LOADED TO THE HILT with high-end expansion cards, including the following: - ATI Radeon 7000 64MB Video Card - Imagine 128 Series II 8MB Video Card - MiroMotion Video Capture Card - Sonnet Tempo ATA133 IDE Card - 2x (TWO) FWB SCSI Jackhammer SCSI2 Accelerator Cards You will not find another system like this as loaded as this is anywhere. Own a piece of computing history, use it as a Linux server, or use it for your own projects! Note: Computer works and boots Mac OS. Although I've made an effort to ensure drivers are installed for all PCI cards, I may not have drivers installed for everything- it is up to you to locate them online if not. I can't seem to get video out of the ATI video card (which is relatively new) but the Imagine 128 Series II card seems to work fine. I'm not sure what the problem is with the ATI card since it worked fine last time I used it, but this is 10+ year old hardware, so I'm just disclosing what I know. I'm shipping the computer as a bare-bones bootable box with only 1 hard drive connected and only 1 PCI card inserted (all other PCI cards will be included but not installed and the other HD and CD-R drive are installed, but not connected- I will let you connect what you want, I dont have a lot of time to spend on it and I just wanted to get it booted quickly for sale). Everything is sold AS-IS. |
