100 YEARS OLD. ONE-OF-A-KIND INSCRIBED AND DATED 1327/1910 KURDISH TRIBES SPECIAL PRESENTATION KILIM, Persian Kurdestan, and comes fresh to the market in MINT ORIGINAL CONDITION. The exact size is: 5'-4"x 9'-0" (163 x 275 cm). This intriguing carpet was probably a presentation carpet commemorating a special occasion, perhaps a wedding. The open, landscape-like abrashed, soft madder red field displays two cartouches: one showing a date of 1327 = 1910 with a bird (falcon or eagle?) motif, and the other with an inscription and a samovar. The large ivory vine and tendril border surround nicely frames the weaver's composition. All 100% natural plant derived dyes were used to weave this rug. Woven on natural ivory wool warps. Soft and supple, yet substantial to the handle. Pristine state of preservation. Will make a harmonious statement as a wall hanging for your home or office interior decor. No other known specimen like this weaving. Absolutely NO rips, holes, tears, repairs, reweaves, moth damage, odors, stiffness, dryness, color run, transfer, or bleeding of the dyes.
