This big house has LOADS of potential! Open a shop in the front rooms, live in your own apartment in the back, and rent out the upper floor! It's an old house, not sure of exactly when the original structure was built. It isn't perfect but I've been in it for several years with no significant problems. It's in a mixed residential and commercial neighborhood, apartments and offices line the street, there's a major hotel across the street, a Rite Aid on one side and a beauty salon on the other. The upper floor is set up as a 1 Bedroom apartment with a large front room, full bath, efficiency kitchen, huge storage room, & 2 walk in closets. Most of the floors are hardwood, five rooms are carpeted, foyer has slate look tile and a Tiffany style hanging lamp. There's a one car garage with an asphalt shingled roof, and a secluded back yard (fenced for privacy). Ground floor has a large bathroom (claw foot tub was removed when house was used as offices). The kitchen has Hoosier style built in flour bin & bread drawer, does not come with appliances. Cellar is dry, floor is cement, walls are made of local stone. Slate roof does not leak. Blown in insulation in walls and ceiling keep it warm in winter, cool in summer - and quiet when traffic is heavy. The insulation also is fire retardant and lowered my insurance cost. Zoned Hot water baseboard heat (natural gas fueled boiler) is very economical. Lot has 55 feet of sidewalk & street frontage and is about 140' deep. Total cost of electric plus gas for heat was about $1500 last year. City water & sewer costs about $500 a year. Taxes are about $4,000 annually (land & school). This is 2 blocks from the main street, surrounded by offices, banks, and other businesses. It's a wonderful business location, I had spectacular results when I opened an antique shop here. Hotel visitors are a mainstay even now - if I display a few items outside it draws customers. Traffic is heavy on Washington Street, and there is ample parking up and down the street for cars to stop & shop. If you have the motivation I had 20 years ago you can turn this place into a major income generator! The second photo shows the ground floor plan, 7 rooms + bath + walk in closet + entry hall. This area is booming, people are steadily moving here to escape city stress.
