UNUSUAL ANTIQUE 19th C. ANATOLIAN MELAS PRAYER RUG. WOW

UNUSUAL ANTIQUE ANATOLIAN MILAS (Melas) PRAYER RUG, Southwest Turkey, Circa: 1850-1875. The exact size is: 3'-10" x 8'-5" (117 x 256.5 cm). It is quite rare to find such an early Milas prayer rug with Transylvania cartouche borders coming in a runner format. A beautiful collector's item with even pile condition. Complete top and bottom end finishes with a few rows of original red wool plain weave kelim and original four-cord selvedges. Minor repair to some moth bites in the field and border with antique wool to perfectly match the original color palette. If you have the space for it, this lovely piece of antique textile art will make a dramatic statement as a wall hanging. The dyes are all 100% natural and soft in their color palette with lovely shades of reds, yellows, and aubergine purples.
