ANTIQUE YOMUD-GROUP TURKOMAN MAFRASH, Central Asia, Turkmenistan, last quarter of the 19th century, and in very good condition for the collector. The exact size is: 1'-2' x 2'-9" (36 x 84 cm). An unusual Yomud family tent bag facing woven with the symmetrical knot structure on goat hair warps and camel hair wefts. Truly tribal! The lattice field design present on this specimen is rarely encountered. The dyes are 100% natural, rich and saturated. The pile is in very good condition. The top end is original and complete. The bottom end is slightly reduced in length and now sewn back secure to prevent future loss of knots.
