UNUSUAL HAND CARVED IVORY DOG CORKSCREW C. 1925.
Ivory dog with silver mounts. The Silver Thumb piece is Hallmarked STERLING and a W with a
Half Circle. This is the Hallmark of Watrous Mfg. Co. The half circle was first used
in 1921 and Registered in 1923. Watrous was one of the original companies to be part of the
International Silver Co.
The dog is finely carved. Open mouth showing teeth and tongue. Glass eyes, (one might have been reglued).
Good long steel worm with a full sharp tip. The Ivory has some age cracks consistent with wear.
However they do not detract from the overall charm of this piece.
