UNUSUAL/MYSTERIOUS ANTIQUE TRIBAL CAMEL HAIR PRAYER RUG

A MYSTERIOUS ANTIQUE TURKOMAN-GROUP or BALUCH CAMEL HAIR PRAYER RUG, Central Asia or East Persian, 19th century, and in very good overall condition for the collector. The exact size is: 3'-1" x 5'-3" (94 x 160 cm). This unusual, truly tribal, antique prayer rug of a weaving has an asymmetrical knot structure open to the left on natural grey-brown goat hair warps and mixed wefts of medium and dark brown natural camel hair. The field ground color is natural camel hair. The limited use of three dyes (brick red and to a lesser extent peach and yellow) are 100% natural and plant derived. The black and white areas are natural, undyed, wool. The three thick bundles making up the side cord overcasting are wrapped in a coarse horse or goat hair and are reminiscent of Ersari and Baluch weavings. The kilim endings at both ends are similar to those found on some Baluch, Arab,Yomud, Ersari and Kizil Ayak carpets. Still, I can not place an exact tribal attribution to this rug and I welcome any suggestions from eBay viewers. The weaving is a bit dusty and would benefit from a cleaning.
