UNUSUAL SOUTHERN FOLK ART POTTERY HANDLE FACE JUG

This is one of the potter's more unusual pieces.  The jug is approximately 9 1/4" tall and 6" wide. The jug is a glossy brown with bunches of individual applied grapes and a curly vine and green grape leaves. At the base of the applied handle is a wonderful bearded face. Two wide open eyes sit above a sharp, slightly hooked nose. The eyes have long shaggy brows. The round open mouth is surrounded by a long  white mustache and beard  that have hairs etched and over-glazed so they look very realistic. There are runs from the jug mouth and grapes that are very attractive. The piece is signed by the artist on the bottom.

     This piece is in excellent condition with no chips cracks or repairs.I wrap very well to ensure that your package arrives safely.
