Here is a great piece of history for you.  It is a genuine Korean War US Army / Marine Corps Lensactic Compass.  Non-illuminating, completely in orignial working order.  As you can see i was standing in a easterly direction while the photos were taken.  Great piece, minor scratches are on the compass body, the bronze bezel ring is tarnished but 100% functional, overall this comapass is in excellent to superb condition considerding its 58 years.  The Crystal to the compass - ( the glass face) is awesome - no scratches that i could see **note thephoto of the side view where the glass is reflective...you can clearly see the crystal is in good shape. Dated 12-50 (December 1950) and was made by the Marine Compass Co, Pembroke, Mass.
