1899 LARGE $1 BLACK EAGLE

LARGE SILVER CERTIFICATE

This is a distinctively different note from most U.S. $1.00 NOTES as it is one of the HARDER TO FIND--LARGE SIZE NOTES, this BLACK EAGLE HAS LINCOLN AND GRANT and is in VERY GOOD-FINE condition in my opinion, but you can judge for yourself to make the final decision with these photos.   The photos can be enlarged.  It has the signature combination of TEEHEE/BURKE.   It was issued years before the introduction of small size notes that we use today.  It used a blue seal which became standard for silver certificates.

The note is fairly clean, with strong ink color contrast over most of the note with signs of use over the years.  There is no ink or writing. It is a largely intact note with 4 intact corners and edges.  There are 6 pin holes.   The Blue Seal is Large and on the right side.   And check out the fine art work of these old large notes, the eagle over the two presidents is impressive.

Book value is $110.00 in this condition, $650 in CU, so place a bid and enjoy a bargain.   Some retailers and Shop at Home TV charge much more that book value for this note when they can find it.  This note does not come up for auction very often and it often sells for well over book value even on Ebay!  So if you need it to add something special to your Paper Money collection this may be just the opportunity, don't let it slip by.
