FINE-15 "TYPE A"

This is a scarce distinctive note.  This HARDER TO FIND--LARGE SIZE NOTE is the 1914 $10.00 FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE in FINE-15 condition in my opinion, but you can judge for yourself to make the final decision with the photos which can be enlarged.  It has the signature combination of  BURKE-McADOO.  It was issued years before the introduction of small size notes that we use today.  It is from the KANSAS CITY Federal Reserve Bank!   It has been professionally graded by PCGS at FINE-15. 

The note is still firm and very clean and fully intact despite its age, with 4 full corners, good color contrast with no writing, tears, or missing pieces.  There are flattened folds, many wrinkles, no pin holes or tears and only light soiling.  The note has good contrast and the paper is still firm overall reflecting normal use, with edges that are smooth.  This is a nice example of old paper money especially for a large size note which are often pretty worn out when they are found.  The BLUE Seal is Large and on the right side. 

The art work on these classic old large notes was outstanding.  In this case on the reverse you can see two scenes, one of two farmers plowing their field with horses which was the common method in 1914 and the other is an industrial scene with smoke stacks and railroad cars.  The scenes represented the wealth of America, which was backing this new Federal Reserve Note and not gold or silver.

Book value is $80.00 in fine condition, $550 in CU, so enjoy a bargain.  Some retailers and Shop at Home TV charge much more that book value for this kind note when they can find it.   So if you need it to add something special to your currency collection this may be just the opportunity, don't let it slip by.
