HAWAII $1.00 WAR NOTE

We have here a  U.S. WORLD WAR II EMERGENCY ISSUE HAWAII OVERPRINT $1.00 SILVER CERTIFICATE 1935A NOTE.  This is  the prized Brown Seal $1.00 bill from the opening days of the Second World War in the Pacific, a must for any collection.  It was issued only from 1942-44 for use in the war zone and is a very special note.  This note is from the S-C block.

Book value for this note is $30, but retailers and Shop at Home TV often charge up to $50 each just because they are so popular and they only used the brown seal this one time for Silver Certificates.  This note has some of the usual tropical stain(darkening), but no ink or writing.  This war note shows moderate use and handling with visible folds and many flattened wrinkles and soiling, it has good color, has full edges and full corners.  There are no pin holes,  but there is one tiny tear right at the lower left corner, its in the margin and is just hanging on.  The tropical staining is normal for Hawaii notes.  It saw moderate time in circulation and lots of visible wear.  So I'd rate it at VERY GOOD-FINE,  but you be the final judge in the photos.  You can enlarge the photos.   It's in great shape for a WWII vet!  This note is in alot better shape than 50% of the surviving war notes.
