This is a SPECIAL set of 5 U.S. Federal Reserve $1.00 Notes of 1963-B.   A bonus for any small note collection, especially if you are trying to get one of each of the many Federal Reserve $1 notes.  They show signs of light to normal circulation.  With good to excellent color, they are fairly clean with sharp edges and corners.   All 5 of the notes are FINE or better condition.  They are all lightly circulated with folds, wrinkles and minimal soiling.   There is one small margin split.  They are a nice looking set of circulated notes.  You can enlarge the photos for a closer look.

Issued in the final month of President Lyndon Johnson's administration in January 1969, this SPECIAL set of notes represents the turbulant time of the Viet Nam War.   LBJ declared he would not run for office again, Richard Nixon was President Elect and LBJ's Secretary of the Treasury quit.  This left a short term vacancy that Joseph W Barr filled for 4 weeks.  It was a record short time and this was the only note he signed.  He wasn't around long enough for any $5s or $10s etc.  And although there are 12 Fed Banks, only 5 had time to issue this limited run of $1.00 bills.  So this is probably the most sought after and by far the most popular $1 FRN note out there.  These notes each came from one of those five banks.
