1999* $1.00* FEDERAL RESERVE *STAR* NOTE

We have here an extraordinaryly nice $1* *STAR* FRN note of the 1999 Federal Reserve Series *STAR* Notes .  Check out the photos above which you can enlarge.  These notes were printed and issued starting in 1999 by the Federal Reserve System in the last months of President Bill Clinton.  He lost his Secretary of the Treasury, Robert Ruben during the impeachment trial and appointed Lawrence Summers to finish out the scandal plagued 2nd term of his administration.  So the new signature was added and used until 2001.  This particular note was printed in Fort Worth Texas for the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank.  As a star note it was used to replace defective notes pulled during the printing process and as thus is much more scarce than regular notes.

Book value for both the STAR note is $6.00 each in this condition, but retailers and Shop at Home TV often charge much more than $10 each just because they are so popular.  Each note is free of holes, writing, ink, stains etc, so I would grade it in especially nice Choice  Uncirculated.  You can enlarge the photos and decided for yourself.
