No matter how utilitarian or commercial the object, good design stands out. This book covers everything from television sets and kitchen appliances to airplane interiors and laundry soap boxes. There are chapters on household equipment, personal use and recreation, commercial and professional equipment, transportation, industrial apparatus and machinery, packages and general identification programs and commercial interiors and exteriors. Familiar products include Kitchenaid mixers, Deere tractors Russel Wright china, a Sunbeam shaver, a Studebaker, a Royall typewriter and a Schlitz Beer sign. INcludes an index of designers. A treasury of great mid century modern design, and a reminder to look for the beauty of well designed every day things in our own time.

The cover has some water stains and the end papers and first few pages are foxed. Slight musty odor. Scarce.
