Space Exploration, US Space Program, 3 DVD SET!

Since the dawn of time, man has always been interested in space exploration.  Countless books and stories have been written and movies made on the subject.  It was only been less than 40 years since that fascination has turned into a reality.  This amazing collection takes you through the US Space Program at the very beginning.  This set of hard to find documentaries shows you some of our brightest moments, and our most tragic failures.

This collection is our largest space collection, and we believe the best one out there as one set.  This is a must have set of films for any space buff, educator, student, and scholar alike.  Makes an awesome gift for that astronomer in your family.

This collection contains about 6 and a half hours of film on 3 DVD's.  Each DVD comes with a fully interactive menu.  A list of films included is as follows:

DVD 1

Apollo 8 - Go For TLI (1969)

This voyage, manned by astronauts Frank Borman, James A. Lovell, and William A. Anders, was man's first to another celestial body, and included an orbit around the Moon on Christmas Day, 1968. Also featured on this episode are air-to-ground tapes of the astronauts' descriptions of the mission, as well as onboard photography of the Earth, Moon and intravehicular activity.

The investigation shows that the Solid Rocket Booster field joints were of an insufficiently fault-tolerant design and when the vehicle was launched at below-normal temperatures, hot exhaust gasses leaked on ignition, damaging the integrity of the field joint, leading to a breach in the external tank and destruction of the orbiter.

This brief, 30-minute biographical documentary looks at the early life and professional career of American astronaut John Glenn (before his days in politics). Several of the people who knew him "back when" in New Concord, Ohio take up a certain amount of time reminiscing on Glenn's boyhood and then the docu segues into the astronaut's preparations for his space flight -- three orbits around the earth, and then home again. Included are interior shots aboard the Friendship Seven space capsule, and Glenn's comments as he works inside the capsule during this mission.

DVD format and quality

All of our DVD's sold are formatted NTSC, without region coding.  This means that they will play on any NTSC DVD Player in the world.  The standard in USA is NTSC.  For those in Europe, your DVD player may be a PAL format, which will not work.  For those overseas customers, please verify that your DVD player can play NTSC disks.

Please note, that most of the films on our disks were made 40 years ago or more.  Some perhaps as old as 80 or 90 years!  As you can imagine, the movie making equipment of the time was a lot more primitive than the high tech equipment that they use today.  Also, many of these films were stored improperly for decades before being digitally coded.  As a result of this, these films are not what one would consider to be "DVD quality" today.   Many, if not most, are black and white.  The sound and picture quality is not perfect.  There are those occasional "snap, crackle, and pops" across many of these films.  We feel that these imperfections add to a film's charm, and provide for a more authentic viewing experience.  WIth that in mind, this collection may not be for those wishing to find digitally remastered and professional recolored duplications of the original work in perfect DVD quality.  Please keep that in mind prior to purchase, since we have fully disclosed that to you.

Catalog Number

This item is our catalog #J16.  If you purchase another item with this same catalog number, you will get two identical items.  Given this, we cannot offer refunds for customers who accidentally purchased two identical disks without reading this auction fully.

Combined shipping on multiple order items!!

Buy 3, Get 1 Free!!

By popular demand, we are now offering a discount to those people wishing to buy multiple items.  Buy any 3 of our items, pay full price and full shipping for each item, and get a 4th item free with free shipping!  Here are the details to take advantage of this offer:

  1. You must purchase 3 items and pay full price and full shipping on all 3 items.

  2. The fourth item must be the lowest cost item out of the 4.  (You can't purchase 3 $9 items and ask for a $25 item free)

  3. You can make the 3 purchases individually since we require immediate payment on most of our items, but you must purchase all 3 items within a short amount of time, typically an hour or less.  We cannot honor this discount if you make three purchases on separate days.

  4. On your 3rd item purchased, please specify in the PayPal comments section, which 4th item you want as your free item.  You must specify the item title, and the catalog number in the PayPal comment field (The catalog number of a disk is found in each listing, directly above this section).  Please do not send us a separate email with your request, that just bogs us down.  If you simply put it in the PayPal comments, that will work for us.  If you fail to request a 4th disk in this manner, we will not email you and hold up your order while we wait for a reply.  All orders are processed as they are received and you will not be able to get your 4th free disk later.

  5. This offer cannot be modified.  You cannot order 3 items and receive a discount instead of a 4th disk.  We do not have any discounts, or deals on combined shipping for customers that order 2 items from us.  For customers that order 2 items, we may at our discretion ship them combined, but a shipping discount will not be offered.

  6. There is no limit to this offer.  If you buy 6 items, you get 2 free.  If you buy 9 items, you get 3 free, etc.

  7. One item is defined as one auction listing.  If that listing contains multiple disks or items, it still counts as one item.

Questions and Answers:

Why should I buy from you?  There are lots of places to buy similar stuff on ebay.  What makes you so special?

What separates us from the rest is that we want you to be happy.  If you're happy, you'll buy from us again and tell your friends.  Getting one sale from you is great, but we want the next sale from you and the next one after that.  It isn't worth a few bucks to us to have one unhappy customer.  If you are unhappy, tell us and let us try to fix the problem.  How many sellers will say that?

Yeah, so, there are lots of other sellers on ebay.  Are you saying the rest of them will rip me off?

No, of course not.  But, beware of what people sell on ebay.  Many sellers on here will charge you an exhorbitant amount for shipping.  Many will "claim" to provide discount shipping only when you contact them, they'll tell you they'll take a quarter off the shipping price for each additional item.  We never do that.  Our combined shipping policy is clearly spelled out for those to see.  No tricky or cheap discounts.  Just Buy 3, Get One Free.  Simple as that.  Also, when comparing our films to those of others, take note of not only the price of the item, but also the content.  You'll see that we not only offer more films per package then our competition, and not only at the cheapest shipping, but also at the cheapest price too.

I live in country ABC, will your DVD work in my DVD player?

Short answer, probably.  Long answer, it depends.  There are two formats of DVD in the world.  NTSC and PAL.  NTSC is the standard for the US and I believe Japan, along with some other countries too.  PAL is popular in Europe.  If you have an NTSC DVD player (all USA customers), this disk will work for you.  If you have a PAL player, this won't.  Also, many commercial DVD's out there have region coding.  Without getting in a long discussion on it, none of our DVD's have any region coding, so that won't be an issue.  All you need to know is whether or not your DVD player is an NTSC format.

What if my disk arrives damaged?

We offer a no muss, no fuss guarantee that all damaged disks are replaced free of charge.

Shipping and Payment information

Pay through PayPal using:

Official PayPal Seal

  1. We accept PayPal as our only form of payment.  We do not accept any other form of payment such as checks, money orders, cash, etc.  Sorry, but no exceptions.

  2. All items will be shipped within 1 business day to your PayPal address. We will only ship to your PayPal verified address.  While this may seem like a "customer unfriendly" policy, this is a fraud prevention technique and is for the consumer's protection, as well as ours.  It is also per PayPal policy.  If you do not hear from us, please assume your package went out as promised.  We will only contact you if there is a problem.

  3. All items are shipped by USPS first class mail.  In an effort to keep our costs down, that are passed along as low prices to you, all of our disks are packaged and shipped in economic sleeves and mailers.  We do not believe in charging you an extra 3 or 4 dollars like some people out there just to throw in a 25 cent plastic case.

  4. TO USA CUSTOMERS:  Most times, your package will arrive in about 5 days after we ship them depending on where you are at.  However, lately the Post Office it seems has not been very cooperative with us and we've had a couple of customers wait a few days longer than that.  For that, we apologize.  Please understand that we cannot control the Post Office, so we can't guarantee a delivery time.  Please wait at least a week and half before you get all upset with us.  And if it still doesn't show up, contact us.  We've yet to knowingly have a customer who is not satisfied.  The only unhappy customers we have are those that don't bother to contact us and don't give us a chance to fix the problem for them.

TO NON-USA CUSTOMERS:  Same deal above,  except your packages typically have been taking about 2 weeks or so after we ship them.  We've noticed that maybe 20% of overseas customers have been waiting as long as 4+ weeks for these shipments.  The only explanation we can come up with is that it must be stuck in some container in some dock waiting on customs clearance.  It happens, and for those 20% of customers, we apologize, but there is very little we can do about that.  Your disk will arrive or we will replace it.

  5. Multiple items purchased by the same customer may or may not be shipped in the same package, at our discretion.  We do not offer any additional discounts on multiple items other than the ones noted above (Buy 3, Get One Free).

  6. Every effort has been made to accurately describe the contents of this collection.  On very very rare occasions, typographical errors may occur and we may make an innocent mistake, such as characterize a B&W movie as color, or a silent film as a sound film, or vice-versa.  These items are described to the very best of our abilities, and in as much detail as possible.

Feedback Policy:

Please offer us a chance to fix any problems before leaving us negative feedback for any reason by emailing us first with your problem.  The only thing we ask from our customers is that if they have a problem, that they give us a chance to fix the problem for them before they leave bad feedback.  If negative feedback is left without any prior communication, we will leave negative feedback for poor communication.

I value your positive feedback and will work hard to earn it from you.  When your package arrives in satisfactory condition, please leave us positive feedback so that we may close out the transaction, and we will return the favor for you.

We verify all disks prior to shipment to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

If you have any questions prior to bidding, please use contact the seller above and let us know.  Thank you!!!!!!
