Here is the best set of landing gear for tandem hang gliding ever invented, a tried-and-true design that has been popular since the mid-1990s.

We had been using an 'earlier' version of these landing gear since 1996, and we've started using the RASCAL gear on our tandem gliders here at Raven Sky Sports in the summer of 2001. So, we've got over 8 years of experience with these landing gear, and we've sold dozens of pairs to other tandem instructors around the world, with 100% satisfaction reported back to us so far.

As you can see, they look great, with some new finishing touches.  The spring-steel forks fit cleanly into the steering head. The welds are very clean.  Our machinist has created a very professional jig for uniform construction of this landing gear, so they are remarkably consistent from one pair to the next. 

The right and left landing gear are identical and interchangeable.  They are painted an attractive color.  The fitting for the basetube is engineered for a 1.250 inch tube, and the fitting for the downtube is available in your choice, either 1.250 inches (as on the Wills Wing Falcon 2 Tandem glider) or 1.500 inches (as is available on the Northwing T2 tandem glider).

Our machinist has said, "Now I understand why the earlier versions of these things cost so much." Between the cost of materials (both mainstream and exotic), tooling, and labor, the finished product is priced at $1,100 per pair plus $69.95 per pair for insured shipping in the USA.

The used landing gear for sale here are not pretty and shiny like the new blue ones in the photos. These used gear were painted maroon when new, and, while some of the paint has chipped/flaked over time, they are as mechanically sound as new ones. The tires show signs of wear but still hold air just fine. Save $350 and, if you wish, repaint them to look like new again!
