USMC Shoe Factory Knife Tool
Circa 1940's Specialty Tool
Many members of our families worked in a local shoe factory before it closed in the early 70's. This tool is one I believe my great aunt had in her effects. The 2 1/4 inch blade has 1/4 inch teeth on the cutting edge and the curved up tip end of the knife. It is marked with an impressed USMC in a square box on the blade. The blade appears to be made of carbon steel or similar metal.
The handle is a 1 inch diameter 4 1/2 inch long wooden sphere that was a dark green once upon a time. It still has traces of the green color in lesser used areas. The end of the handle nearest the blade has a silver metal cap. There is a silver metal small button or nail on the handle where the thumb would rest during use, and another smaller one off center in the end. It is an interesting addition for your knife or manufacturing tool collection regardless. If you know what the purpose for it is, please email. Inquiring minds want to know!
When this is
properly packed, it will weigh around 13 ounces. This should ship for
under $4.00 to most Zip Codes. International buyers will pay calculated Global Priority or First Class International.
Please DO NOT pay before receiving MY invoice to avoid excess shipping charges. Thanks!!
