The first thing one
notices about Ulysse Nardin’s Michelangelo Collection is the
distinctive tonneau case shape. Ulysse Nardin has expanded the Michelangelo
collection over the years to an impressive ten different models. They
are the Gigante UTC Dual Time Limited Edition, Gigante Chronometer
Limited Edition, Gigante Chronometer, Gigante UTC Dual Time, Big Date,
Chronograph, and the star of the collection, the Perpetual Ludovico.
This particular watch
has a Black Dial with Roman Numeral Hour Markers, Automatic Movement
with the Perpetual Calendar. Features: Hour & Minutes with the
large hands, Small Seconds sub-dial at the 9 o'clock position, Day
of the week inside the seconds sub-dial, Large 2 window Date Indicator
at the 1 o'clock position, Month at 4 o'clock position, Double Window
Year Indicator at the 6 o'clock Position. All operations controlled
by the crown, forward & BACKWARDS setting of the date. Luminous
Hands. In addition, it has a black croco strap with an 18K U.N. Deployment
Buckle.
What makes this timepiece
mechanically different from other fine Perpetual Calendar watches, the system enables the Calendar to be Corrected
backwards as well as forwards, a characteristic utterly unique
in a perpetual calendar watch. Not only is this feature exceptionally
user friendly to its wearer, it prevents any setting-related damage
to the mechanism, and also permits manual adjustment in the year 2100,
when the Gregorian calendar omits the regularly scheduled leap year.
