BEAUTIFUL! From the himalayan kingdom of Nepal, this is a beautiful 92.5 silver gau pendant set with pieces of lapis around the symbol, OM... The pendant measures approximately 1 5/8" high x 1 1/8" wide. Ghau amulets were traditionally worn by pilgrams and used to carry an image of Buddha, prayers, or Tibetan medicine. This gau comes inside the stone bowl that is pictured with it. This bowl was carved from a type of colorful himalayan marble in northern India and measures 2" wide. The name is derived from lapis in Latin and azul which is Aztec for blue. Lapis has a hardness of 5.5 and has a specific gravity of 2.4 to 2.9.
