This handy little color scanner is from Canon and is used but in working order. This item is Serial # UZK571818, and was originally purchased November, 2006, but has since been replaced by a larger more powerful scanner. Includes the original proof of purchase sticker, quick set up guide, and proof of registration, but does not include a user manual. However, the user manual (and additional drivers) can be downloaded at http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=119&modelid=11446#DownloadDetailAct. A USB cable is supplied with the scanner. No desktop stand is included.
This scanner uses 4 buttons to easily automate the scanning process, allowing you to scan, copy, and create e-mail attachments or PDFs. Multi-Scan Mode lets you scan multiple images simultaneously, rather than one by one. The scanner also comes with Quick Automatic Retouching and Enhancement (QARE) technology, which reduces much of the dust and scratches that may appear on your older originals. It even auto-corrects to help with graininess, picture fading and improper backlighting. The expansion top (Canon calls it Z-Lid) allows you to scan bulky items, as it lifts about 1” vertically and then lies flat on the item you are scanning. Power is supplied via the USB port—there is no power cable/transformer (just a USB cable). The scanner comes with the original CD with Canon software, including Canon’s CanoScan Toolbox 4.9, which provides a range of creative and practical tools.
The perfect gadget to preserve family pictures or scan documents!
More information about the scanner can be found at the Canon web site at: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=119&modelid=11446
Please let me know if you have any questions.
The actual item that you are bidding on is what is shown in the photographs. We are a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers, and not experts on the items we sell. We do try to describe everything as completely as we can, with information given to us by donors of the materials or information available on or with the devices/items we sell, so please bear with us and feel free to ask any and all questions you may have. We pack as carefully as we can, but recommend that you purchase insurance if you have concerns as we cannot be responsible for any loss or damage during transit.
This item was recently donated to Habitat for Humanity, Ventura County, by a generous donor as part of our new eBay Giving Works auction initiative, an initiative that we are combining with our normal fundraising efforts to raise funds to support our mission of ending poverty housing in Ventura County. Our Habitat affiliate’s focus in Ventura County, California, but we also tithe a percentage of our donations to Habitat for Humanity International and to a sister-affiliate in Malawi (Africa). For every house we build in Ventura County, up to 4 houses are built by our Malawi affiliate using our tithes to them. Your purchase will not only give you an item that you need or have been trying to find at a price that you set, but will also help needy families find decent, affordable housing. Under the IRS rules, you may be allowed to deduct any amount you pay for this item that is in excess of the fair market value of the item (as a charitable contribution); handling this, and the valuation, is between you and your tax advisor.
Although Habitat for Humanity, Ventura County, is new to selling on eBay, we have been in operation as a Habitat affiliate for 25 successful years so far (building 42 houses to date), and our eBay auctions are being operated by a volunteer with eBay selling experience—see eBay user “bytelaw” to check out feedback ratings. We invite you to join us on our eBay journey. To learn more about our affiliate, please see http://members.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=habitatforhumanityofventuracounty.
