What is a Direct Wire Cord with Flat MUTE Button Kit? |
The Direct Wire Cord is an optional accessory that allows you to connect the Valentine V 1 Radar Detector directly to your fuse block or other 12-volt source (leaving your lighter socket free for other uses) and provides a Flat MUTE button for the detector. You could use the button to change the Mode setting on your detector also.
The Direct Cord with MUTE button is approximately 8 feet long, with the MUTE button on a cord that's about 4 feet long and connected at the built-in LOW AMP FUSE end of the cord so you can place it within arms reach. It's the perfect addition for any car when reaching the detector's mute button on the radar detector is a stretch. You
have a choice of 3 power taps. If you would like to change the t-tap to one of the fuse taps, just let us know which one you would like by leaving a note with your PayPal payment AND email us at info@Safe-N-Sound1.com

Normally comes with a T - Tap  to connect to a power wire source like below.
If you need a Fuse tap, just let us know which one you would like and we'll replace the T-Tap in your order.
1. Blade Fuse Tap  to connect to a blade fuse in the fuse box, or
2. Mini Blade Fuse Tap  to connect to a mini blade fuse in the fuse box.
Now you can wire directly to your fuse box or power source and eliminate dangling power cords.
 
Our power cords will allow your radar detector to be hard wired to your vehicle very easily. If you do change vehicles, simply unplug the red wire from the T-tap connector, and unhook the black ground wire.

FLAT MUTE BUTTON INSTALL:

Normally
the cord for the mute button is about 4 feet long. Figure out
where you would like to mount your mute button. The flat mute
button has strong mounting tape on the back side of it. Mounting
on a smooth surface would be ideal.

Clean
the surface with rubbing alcohol or some sort of cleaning agent.
Let the surface dry, peel the backing off of the mounting tap and
apply pressure for a few seconds so the mounting tape will adhere
well.
