1920 x 1080? I heard HDV is only1440 x 1080?

The Sony FX1 shoots HDV in 1440x 1080. Yet, to preserve the widescreen aspect ratio and thus making iteasier on the purchaser of this stock footage we create 1920 x 1080 files.No messing around in editing for the right aspect ratio. All the informationyou need is in the file.

What kind of clips do I get inthis set?

There are 4 discs all together.Disc 1 is LANDSCAPES of Vancouver Island. Disc 2 is NATURE, WILDLIFE AND FORESTRY, Disc 3 is OCEANS AND LAKES and Disc 4 is RIVERS AND CREEKS.

Is this footage interlaced or progressive?

Interlaced. The Sony FX1shoots an interlaced image. If you are looking for a progressive image,you can easily convert this footage to progressive in most editing programs.

Will this footage play on a mid-gradePC or Mac?

The footage is big. 1920 x 1080images take up a giant amount of space, thus taking a lot of power to play.Even on a high-grade computer, it will be hard to play perfectly smooth.This is something that can definitely be worked around. Many editing programshave preview features that can easily recognize large HDV files, by makingthe footage editable, before your final export.

Is this 3 chip footage or 1 chip,because I heard that HDV is only 1 chip?

 This is a very good question.This footage is full 3 CHIP HDV footage. Some competitors have 1chip HDV footage. The footage from a 1 chip camera will be fine, but willlack the color depth of this 3 chip HDV stock footage. Be aware that theearly HDV camcorders are only 1 chip camcorders.

How many clips on this 4 discset?

This 4 disc set has 4 separatecategories totaling 40 clips over 6 minutes. This is because of the largesize of these files, but you are getting uncompromised quality with thisfootage. No down-converted video, just full 1080i footage. Plus, best ofall, you can start editing right away.
