The mission of the Friends of the Pahlo Center is to create a community-based visual arts complex for children and adults providing opportunities for individual growth, self expression, increased awareness and appreciation of the arts through participation in studio, museum, exhibition, lecture, and educational programs.

Velera Adams,
a retired elementary public school teacher, began painting at age 16
under the tutelage of her artist mother. she daily enjoys
designing and painting in water colors and oils. Consignment work
availabl. she has taught a variety of watecolor classes and seminars.
Her painting subjects inclide floral, still life, animals, and birds.
Velera designed a still life in oil that won her a Blue Ribbon and best
of show at the 2004 kansans state fair. In 2005 she pleced 2nd with her
original still life design. .....from the palette of Velera Adams
The Pahlo Art Refinery & Gallery is
owned and operated by Patrick O'Hanlon. Located in the Pahlo
Center (above) in Marshall, Mo the 1922 structure is being remodeled to
house both a healing arts center and the Pahlo Art Refinery and
Gallery. Focus for the gallery will be providing open studios for
as many as 50 artists and 3 main galleries as well as classes and
workshops. Target date for opening the community arts center to
the public is tenetively scheduled for December 1st, 2005. At
that time both the physical gallery and Ebay store are anticipated
to be filled with a wide variety of art. Anyone wishing to take
part in this bold new venture is welcome to contact me. For more
