This exquisite European Dagger Short Sword is very well made and dates from the mid 19th Century. It is mounted with a wonderful triangular blade that measures 14 inches in length which is beautifully engraved, remains in very nice condition with only minor stains and is still wearing most of the bright blue and gold. The elaborate guard is highly detailed and is mounted with a samè covered (fishskin) hilt that is crowned with a double lion's head pommel. The fittings are all gold washed and continue to wear 99 % of their finish. The leather scabbard wears nicely coordinating fittings and although the leather is a bit weak at the base fitting, does remain overall healthy in condition. Overall measuring 21 inches in length. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this auction)
