This beautiful French Naval Officer's Sword is a Model 1837 and is inscribed with the original owner's title and name "ADMIRAL DE CACQUERAY". It is mounted with a slightly curved, spearpoint blade that measures 27 5/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice condition and is marked along the spine by the maker Coulaux & Co. Klingenthal. The fabulous guard is intricately detailed with pieced work which includes an anchor as well as wonderful Nautical details and frames a beautiful carved horn hilt that remains healthy in condition. The leather scabbard wears fabulous fittings as well and remains very healthy in condition with all the stitching nicely intact. The scabbard base fitting has a few small dings on the backside, nevertheless the lovely detailing remains intact. Overall measuring 34 1/2 inches in length.
