This is a well made and very nice example of a Moro Kampilan Sword which dates from the mid to late 19th Century. It is mounted with an impressive, massive blade that measures 30 3/8 inches in length. The blade remains very sharp and has survived in good condition with only a little minor staining and old forging flaws. It wears a fabulously carved wooden hilt that is enhanced with braided hemp, tuffs of hair and a simple metal medallion on either side. The wood has survived in very healthy condition with a nice aged patina now developed. The seldom encountered wooden scabbard is simple in design and remains very nice as well. Overall measuring 44 1/4 inches in length. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this auction)
