This Blue Whitman Folder contains Twenty Four better condition Franklin Half Dollars, 90% silver.
The Whitman Folder has a very small tear on the spine but otherwise is in great shape. This type of folder fits in any standard safe deposit box.
These coins were obviously put away in the folder quite some time ago since about half the coins exhibit album toning, a few have quite a bit of color and toning and provide some really pretty specimens. A nice set for Franklin Enthusiasts.
We provide the following opinion on the Coins and Grades (please buy based on your opinion):
These 24 Franklin Halves include the following dates and grades:
1949 Fine. Blue, green and aquamarine toning over the reverse fields. Nice
1950 Fine. Dark blue and purple edge toning.
1950-D Fine
1951 Very Fine
1951-S Fine, cleaned but retoning with a light champagne color.
1952 Very Fine Green and teal rim toning.
1952-D Fine
1953-D Fine
1954 Fine
1954-D Fine
1957 Extra Fine. Very attractive rainbow crescent toning on obverse
1957-D Very Fine+, light orange and gold album toning along bottom rim
1958 Extra Fine. Strong mottled golds, oranges and blues all over obverse. Kinda wild.
1958-D Very Fine, light green and orange toning in the devices.
1959 AU, light champagne toning on the reverse bottom rim. Orange and blue speckled obverse toning
1959-D AU, CrazY Full Spectrum toning all across the obverse. The reverse has a rainbow pattern even distributed along the rims. Strong specimen.
1960 AU. Very light blues and greens along the rims, especially on the reverse. Pretty coin.
1960-D About Uncirculated. Gun Metal Gray. This coin has the letter MIN FRANKL imprinted in reverse along the obverse. This is because the coin was in direct contact with the Folder inside page for the past 45 years. Really Neat
1961 Extra Fine. This one has the standard rainbow toning along the reverse rims. However , the obverse has a very attractive – if unusual – color scheme. The colors are not mottled at all – the blues, greens, indigos and oranges all blend together very well. Pretty!
1961-D Very Fine, mottled russet obverse.
1962-AU very light pastel gold and violet toning, pretty. (We have noticed that a previous set had a similar toning color regime for the 1962. Interesting how the sulfur oxides tone certain years a certain color coin based on that years specific metallurgy!).
1962-D some splotchy orange, russet and gold album toning. We’ve seen this color on another. 1962-D from the same large estate.
1963 Au.
1963-Extra fine. Pinks and champagne.
These silver half dollars are now ready to serve your financial security. Silver bullion and silver coins have proven a consistent and reliable way to circumvent decline in other investment/portfolio holdings excessively tied to the value of paper currency.
You can set aside the album of 24 silver coins for investment or this collection makes a great starting place to upgrade for those choice gem uncirculated halves (we sell those too, separately!)
Moreover, these coins are a really great set of original toned Franklins. No problems or funny cons. Some great samples and specimens. As you can see from our feedback we regularly sell sets of Franklins for $5-7 dollars a coin. This set is MUCH nicer and more interesting. Someone will be very glad to have this little original collection.
We work hard and honestly to maintain our 100% positive rating. Please let us know in advance if there is anything at all with either our product or service where you would be uncomfortable leaving five star feedback.
Please buy based on your opinion of the coins pictured; these are the coins you will receive.
