With smooth velvety fields, plenty of original mint luster, and a desirable cartwheel shine, this NGC-rated 1902-S MS65 Morgan gem is quite an eyeful. Both the obverse and reverse surfaces are clear and white, with a sharp gleam and no detracting marks to speak of.  Unlike many 1902-S Morgans, this specimen is well-struck, with nice detail present throughout the devices.

With only 1.5 million produced, the 1902-S Morgan has one of the smallest mintage figures of the San Francisco Mint. Gem specimens from this mintage are notoriously rare. To this day, NGC has certified only 99 1902-S Morgan Dollars at MS65 -- and only 9 have received a higher grade (all at MS66)!

Coin World Trends currently lists a value of $3,500 for the 1902-S Morgan Dollar in MS65 grade. With the MS66 priced at $10,000, the MS65 remains a preferred option for many collectors.
