Bounded in solid half leather with gilt letters on spine.  9½" x 6¾". 

         Often, the first edition of this important text of Doyle is presented as the Hutchinson & Co’s edition of London, but the first one is this one.

         The text is important because many specialists see in the hero of the story a kind of autobiography of Sir Conan Doyle.

         The book is in very nice shape: cover’s edges used but issues are clean, solid, neither rust spots nor browning.  Previous owner’s signature on end paper.
