VG+ Antique 1805 Leather "Johnson's Dictionary", Samuel

Here's a very nice early 1800's dictionary we received recently with some antique books. This one appears to have been known as Johnson's Dictionary in it's day, authored by Samuel Johnson. It is leather bound and quite nice. The cover has a little wear to the leather edge on the part of the cover over the binding at top and bottom. The exterior hinge area of the covers look very good front and back. Interiors are also good though this is a string bound book so there is just a tad of looseness at the inner cover. The title page tells us the book was published in Philadelphia in 1805 and the copyright seems to have been in 1804 so not sure if this is a first edition or not of this book. Hundreds of pages as the book is relatively thick. The pages seem to be tight and there is a little darkening, handling marks on the first several pages only. Other pages have a little spotting on some though not much at all considerate of age. Nice example of an early 1800's dictionary. This book is about 8.5 by 5.5 inches in face dimension and about 2.75 inches thick. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this antique dictionary low so enjoy the auction. When packed this will weigh about 3.5 lbs so we'll use USPS Media Mail at a fixed rate of $3.28 as the best value postal alternative to the buyer. We have no packing or handling charge.
