Welcome! Offered is a RARE  'AM. WATCH COMPANY' 'WALTHAM, MASS' (Marked on MOVEMENT).  Movement number 1565530 which dates it to 1880 and 128 YEARS OLD. Size 18 and HEAVY. EVERYTHING is TIGHT after all those years and the movement is original to the AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL case in EXCELLENT CONDITION.  Movement is in gold AND A KEYWIND KEYSET with KEY.

The DIAL IS MINT...NO hairlines,  cracks or chips here. Dial is magnificent with this CASE. DIAL IS MARKED 'WALTHAM'.

THE WATCH BOOK 2008 VERSION SAYS ON PG 102 THAT A 'K' STANDS FOR 'KARAT' 14 K SOLID GOLD BUT ALSO SAYS K (W) FOR WHITE GOLD AND THERE ISN'T A 'W' MARKED. THE CASE IS A SPARKLING SILVER/WHITE IN COLOR SO I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS SOLID GOLD OR WHAT?

IT IS A HEAVY WATCH WITH MOVEMENT.

There was a Mr. Dennision who formed a watch company with two other gentlemen in 1850 and in 1853 the name was BOSTON WATCH CO. Waltham, Massachusetts.  Dennison's name appears with others shortly after 1853 but the BOSTON WATCH CO failed in 1857 and I can't find any further mention of Mr. Dennision.

THERE IS NO MENTION OF DENNISON MAKING WATCH CASES BUT HIS NAME IS MARKED ON THE WATCH CASE AND WITH THIS LOW OF A NUMBER.

I DO KNOW THIS WATCH STANDS OUT AND SHINES LIKE IT WAS MADE YESTERDAY. HOWEVER, THE WATCH IS NOT RUNNING. THE KEY KEEPS TURNING BUT DOESN'T 'WIND' THE WATCH. BALANCE WHEEL AND HAIRSPRING APPEAR TO WORK JUST FIND. IT MIGHT JUST BE A MINOR 'FIX' FOR THIS BEAUTY.

I am not a watch expert, I do my best to describe each item with an accurate description AND WITH PICTURES so everything is sold 'As Described' with no returns. I will try to answer any questions as best I can. The watch collection belonged to my father and I received it when he passed away a few years ago. Now, I want to find others who will love these watches as much as my dad did. I can't guarantee the timing of these watches, they might be off. I had many cleaned but didn't keep a record of which ones since the collection is huge so if the pocketwatch skips a beat it might need a simple cleaning and oiling by the buyer.
