Old Hanover House Catalog

This old catalog is great fun to browse! It is filled with gadgets, gimmicks and practical items popular almost five decades ago, including some sold as vintage today. Although I couldn't find a date in the catalog, the items - and their prices - and hair and fashion styles date it to about the early 1960's. I found it in an old box of Granny's filled with other paper products.

Hanover House was a very popular mail order catalog at that time, and the items shown are a true representation of products used during that era - a little 'slice of life' from the sixties. Not only is the catalog quite nostalgic (if you remember that time), it is also interesting to see what was popular then, what has fallen out of fashion, and what items are still  popular!

The catalog has some wear on the cover; the back and spine have tears that have been taped, and there are a couple of small pieces torn off. The inside pages have yellowed with age, but are all intact, clear and unmarked. - The order form has stuck together, but it wouldn't be able to be used anyway, unfortunately! A nice addition to a catalog collection, or just for one's own pleasure and information.

This is another item from my (96-year-old) grandmother's home! After many years of being a 'packrat', she has decided to get rid of some things. I will be listing some of these items in the coming weeks - she has quite eclectic taste; so check back often, you never know what might turn up!
