Description
Up for auction today, I have a vintage shirtwaist dress by Palm Fashions!
It is made from a light-weight, silky fabric in black. I'm not sure of the fabric content, but I did a burn test on some threads from the dress, and it's not synthetic. It could be a cotton or silk, I'm thinking. The dress is done in a classic 50's style, with a fitted bodice and waist, and full skirt pleated into the waistline. The bodice buttons up with 5 small buttons, and it is seamed and darted for the MOST flattering fit. The sleeves are short and cuffed. There are 5 buttons around the inside of the collar, which makes me think it originally had a removable collar to cover the black one (fur or lace, perhaps?).
This dress is so classic! It's a great 50's style that is still very on-trend today! Styles like this won't ever be out of fashion. It is a very versatile dress and can be subdued for the office, worn on a date, or snazzed up for a party. It's a little black dress, and is only limited by your imagination and the accessories you pair with it! Plus, it's vintage, and vintage means one-of-a-kind! You'll be the only lady around wearing this dress! How unique!
The dress is in wonderful vintage condition. There are no rips, stains, or holes.
The original tag says "Palm Fashions, 12, DeLand, Florida", but a vintage size 12 is very different from a modern one, so be sure to check the measurements to ensure a fabulous fit!
