Overall Tips:
Many cashmere items can be hand washed safely in lukewarm water. Use baby shampoo or gentlewash detergent and rinse well. Add half cup of white vinegar to the rinse. Washing actually makes cashmere softer, allowing the yarns to bloom. Dry flat and don't expose to any heat.
Light pilling is not a problem for cashmere. Even the best qulality cashmere give sume pilling. Just wash it and remove pilling by hand when it is still wet.
