An unusual antique/vintage pair of knitting needle caps in the form of pigs trotters. Both 'caps' are beautifully carved out of bone. These items were often made by soldiers in the trenches of WW 1. The caps were used to prevent stitches slipping of the end of knitting needles when the work in progress was laid down.
The original elastic might need replacing if intended for use.
Could easily be converted into a pair of unusual earrings.

Length of each trotter: 1 3/4" (4.5 cms)
Diameter of hole: 1/4" (7mm)
Weight of trotters with elastic: 8gms
