French designer Marcel Boucher started his career 1910s and early 20s at Cartier, in Paris. He moved to New York in 1922 and continued working in fine jewelry until the Wall Street crash of 1929 when he was forced to transfer his considerable talents to costume jewelry. Boucher is known for his superbly crafted pieces which are often mistaken for precious jewelry.
This signed BOUCHER Parure is so beautifully designed, constructed of rhodium-plated metal cast to look like branches on a tree scattered with shimmering aurora borealis rhinestones reminding me, of frost on a winter morning. Added to this are incredible prong set opal like cabochons in icy blue with a hint of green. The necklace, bracelet and earrings are very romantic and are a fabulous addition to any vintage jewelry collection.
The signature is on the back of the middle cabochon one earring is numbered. The set is in perfect wearable condition.
Necklace length is approx 14' with a 2 3/4' extension.
Bracelet is 7'
Earrings approx.1' wide with clip backs
