VINTAGE RECEIPT HOOK



This is a Vintage, Cast Iron Receipt Hook - most likely once used in a place of business - office or department store. Receipts or other paper items were hooked or strung onto the point of the hook, allowing them to remain fastened in a grouping at bottom. Receipt hook measures 7 1/2" long; 3 1/4" across at widest point. The back is incised Made In U.S.A. Item is in Good Condition overall (of course, due to age, there is general wear, including paint wear - please see pictures below). The piece has a lovely, aged-patina and is highly decorative! This item could of course be "used" to hold receipts or other paper items, but it is also a great architectural wall decoration (please be advised that the actual "point" of the hook is VERY SHARP - SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN HANDLING!).
