Hard to find early piece acquired at an estate sale. From the late 1920's early 1930's as depicted in old magazine ads from "Women's Home Companion" ( September 1925 ), "Saturday Evening Post" ( November 12, 1927 & May 16, 1931 ) & "Better Homes And Gardens" ( October 1927 ).
This item had multiple layers of paint and has thus been stripped and refinished with a Golden Oak stain and 2 layers of polyurethane. I have not replaced any portion of this piece other than the finish. There are areas of wear and one decorative brace had been cracked and reglued by a previous owner. I have not attempted to replace it.
It measures 25" high by 14" by 14"; has 3 steps and the original metal seat protectors when it is flipped over for the step-stool function. A unique and rather unusual item to accompany that old Hoosier cabinet and complete your period decor!
