The brass plaque on the front of the book ends is ingraved as follows: "Edison stock ticker desinged by Thomas Edison in 1870 this stock ticker was used for receiving stock quotations from the nations leading exchanges for over 80 years."The clear glass dome displays cast iron replicas of ticker tape machines,a telegraph instrument that automaticaly printed off stock quotations on paper tape.
