SPECIAL NOTE: When we originally listed this we believed it to be a mid 1980s American made Fender neck. IT IS NOT! Some information was sent to us by a helpful eBay'er named choachboy, correcting us as to exactly what this neck was. Accordingly to this individual, this is a Japanese made neck from a Fender Boxer series ST-557 model guitar manufactured in approximately 1985. He also stated that it could have imported for use on the contemporary Stratocaster models sold in the US at about that time. The stamp on the heel, which contains the red letter "E", stands for export. He also felt that, in his opinion, the headstock may have been refinished with a new logo minus the "MADE IN JAPAN" portion that would have been placed under the Stratocaster label on this model. There was a period between 1982 & 1987 where the Japanese Fenders which were made by the FUJIGEN GAKKI COMPANY were considered to be just as good, if not better than, the American made versions!
