FREAK BROTHERS BOARDGAME









Auction is for a Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers boardgame.  This boardgame is MINT and complete with everything needed to play a game straight away.  Aim of this game is to get around the board wheeling and dealing trying to get 'Home' with 37 'lids' or ounces.  You might pick up some weed at the Freaks place or over at McDopes. 

Along the way you will land on Weird trips squares or Burns Busts Bummers and Rip Offs, and have to take a corresponding card.  You might get lucky - Its Your Birthday - Receive One Lid Of Grass From Each Player or you could pull a 'Bummer' - Weed Weevils Eat An Ounce of Your Weed, You Lose, One Ounce.   All cards have different pay-offs or pitfalls and there are 21 Burns Busts Bummers and Rip Off Cards and 21 Weird trips cards.

Gameboard is a vintage tri-fold gameboard from the early 1970's and is on thick paper/card stock.  This will be sent to you in a thick cardboard sleeve to ensure gameboard arrives in pristine shape.  The artwork for the gameboard is incredible. 

The rules are pretty simple and easy to pick up and are printed on the rear of the game, although you can always type them out on your PC and keep them along with the gameboard to save turning the board over if there are new players playing.  Any number of gamers can play, you just need to add more game pieces (4 are included).

The original game came without stash cards, which were only supplied in a much more rare boxed version.  On the back of the game it suggests using matches to represent the ounces used when playing the game. 

This game comes complete with 150 Stash cards, professionally printed on card stock so you dont have to mess around finding card substitutes.

I suggest that in order to preserve the game for the future you should frame the game.  I have seen them laminated, although much like the comic books that people laminated in the past - it makes the items essentially worthless - DO NOT LAMINATE THE GAMEBOARD. 

The gamecards will get soft and brittle over time, and I chose to laminate the Weird Trips and the Burns Busts Bummers and Rip Off gamecards for my game.  My own personal game is framed with a plexiglass (clear plastic) front, and I put some of those little felt 'feet' from the hardware store on the rear.  This way I can hang the game on the wall and appreciate the artwork, take it off and play a game, the felt feet mean the frame doesnt scratch my furniture and the plexiglass means the front cant shatter at rowdier parties.
