This is one of my personal basses which I have decided to part with, but this one a hard one to let go of, I've had it for years. A 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard bass in cherry sunburst. - NOW PRICED TO SELL - These were only made for a year or two before they discontinued making them like this. Not to be confused with the new Les Paul bass with it's gouged out heart, er- I mean body, and it's goofy toggle switch. This is a quality instrument. Block inlays on an ebony fretboard, unbound neck and headstock. Beautiful abalone headstock flowerpot inlay and Gibson logo. Three point bridge, TB-1 humbuckers, cream binding, 'cloverleaf ' tuners, it has a lot of charm. More importantly, it's one of the nicest playing basses I've ever played, certainly the nicest Gibson bass. Monster tone. Two piece maple top on a solid mahogany body, one piece mahogany neck. It's a great playing, great looking bass with a big, big sound, different altogether from any other of Gibsons basses. One thing.... it suffered a headstock fracture about ten years ago, was professionally repaired, and has been a joy since with no movement or problems of any kind. You'd have to have it pointed out to you, even then you would'nt see the finish repair unless you knew what you were looking at, it was very well executed. I'll be posting more/better photographs very soon. It's a fabulous bass. You will'nt be seeing too many of these, they only made a few. Except having been repaired it's in excellent condition although I have played it a lot over the years. I bought a new Gibson case for it recently. You will love this bass.
