VINTAGE HAND EMBROIDERED + BEADED FLORAL NEEDLEPOINT
This skillfully hand embroidered and hand beaded 1900's needlework was done by an accomplished needle woman. A canvas was used as a foundation, and the stitches are worked with wool thread and glass beads. The foundation was usually held taut in a frame as the stitches were worked in, at 14 stitches per inch. CONDITION: The condition of the needlework is good, with no fading, no stains, and the colors are vibrant. However one side of the piece has missing stitches and is worn as shown in photos. One very small area of missing stitches in the florals, about 10 stitches and a small hole in the black area of needlepoint.. There are white beads and silver metallic beading worked into the needlepoint. MEASUREMENTS: The finished needlework on canvas measures 17" x 18-1/2". The original frame canvas measures 22-1/2" x 18-1/2". This antique needlepoint is ready for any project. I have listed and will be listing many similar needlepoint pieces from this wonderful estate. I also have a nice inventory of similar needlepoint in the NEEDLEPOINT section of MY EBAY STORE
